Health and Safety

Our Commitment to Safety – Minneapolis 2026

At Chorus America, creating a conference environment where every attendee feels safe, supported, and welcomed is one of our highest priorities. We know that federal immigration enforcement activity in Minnesota has raised questions and concerns, and we want you to feel confident that we are taking your safety seriously at Conference.

What We Are Doing

Close Coordination with Our Hotel and Venues

We’ve worked closely with our Conference hotel and all event venues to review emergency procedures, security protocols and preparedness plans. At the hotel, we have put additional measures in place to ensure that our Conference spaces on the second and third floors remain clearly separated from public areas — including the connected indoor skyway system that intersects with the second floor.

On-Site Security and Safety Presence

Professional security and/or safety personnel will be present at all official Chorus America conference venues. In addition to enhanced hotel security personnel, we are also partnering with Sequeerity, a Minneapolis-based firm owned and operated by queer folks and women of color. Sequeerity's personnel are trained in de-escalation and community care and will provide safety support across conference events.

Expanded Transportation

We are providing bus transportation as an option for all offsite concerts, taking attendees from the hotel to venues and back. Buses will also be ADA compliant, supporting both accessibility and overall safety.

Emergency Preparedness & Communication

In partnership with our venues and support personnel, Chorus America will have clear communication and action protocols in place should any situation arise. A dedicated Safety & Emergency Information section will be available within the conference app, including:

  • Emergency procedures
  • Key contacts
  • Real-time notifications if needed

Ongoing Monitoring of Local Conditions

We are staying informed through local partners, including Meet Minneapolis, and will continue to adjust plans responsibly if circumstances change.

Participant Guidelines

As at all Chorus America programs, attendees are expected to adhere to our Participant Guidelines, which help ensure that program spaces are welcoming and safe for everyone. All registered attendees have agreed to these guidelines as part of the registration process.
