Jazmin Salaberrios

Jazmin Salaberrios is a soprano, teaching artist, and educator whose career bridges performance, education, and community engagement. With more than sixteen years of professional vocal experience, she has performed with Opera Omaha, Kentucky Opera, Berlin Opera Academy (Germany), Siena Summer Music (Italy), 105 Voices of History(National HBCU Choir, Washington DC), 16 Legacy Voices, Coalition for African Americans in the Performing Arts (CAAPA),Elevation, The Sam Bonds Chorale, The Lloyd Mallory Singers, Delaware Choral Arts, and the Colour of Music Festival(North Carolina). She is also a frequent recitalist and curator, presenting programs such as Hold On!, an immersive exploration of African American resilience, and Smooth OPERAtor, a one-woman show that introduces opera, German lieder, and spirituals to K–5 audiences.

Equally committed to education, Jazmin has taught across K–12 and higher education. She served as a K-8 educator (general music, chorus, and orchestra), directed musical theater productions, and worked as a guest lecturer and masterclass clinician at Kentucky State University. In her current role as Lead Faculty with Elevate Vocal Arts, she mentors young singers, designs inclusive curricula, and leads projects that integrate vocal arts, education, and personal and professional development. Her teaching artistry has also extended into community organizations in Delaware, Kentucky, and Nebraska, such as The Yudah School of Music (Founding Vice President ), Bestfriends Adult Day Center, Girls Inc., the Sarpy Juvenile Justice Center, and MICAH House, where she helped design and implement workshops that foster creativity, confidence, and connection.

As a scholar and advocate, Jazmin has presented nationally, including at the Spirituals Project National Conference, where her session Breaking Bread Together explored the use of spirituals as tools for healing and connection through cultural experiences. She has been a registered teaching artist with the Nebraska Arts Council. She currently serves as a Delaware Teaching Artist and has been recognized with the Delaware Artist Opportunity Grant.

Jazmin holds a Bachelor of Arts in Music from Delaware State University and a Master of Music degree from the University of Delaware. She is currently pursuing her Doctor of Musical Arts at the University of Kentucky. Jazmin also serves as a theater instructor for the arts organization Epitome of Soul and as Music Director at Conley’s United Methodist Church, where she collaborates with local musicians to enrich worship through music. Through her combined roles as performer, educator, and community advocate, Jazmin continues to create spaces where music serves as a vehicle for empathy, inclusivity, and transformation
