This event is an In-Depth Seminar. In-Depth Seminars are separately ticketed events for a $100 fee. They take place on Wednesday, June 3rd, from 2:00-5:00 pm, before the full Conference begins.

Every choir wrestles with the same fundamental questions: Are we making the impact we intend? Does our mission still reflect who we are and who we serve? The good news is that most choirs don’t need a months-long strategic planning process to spark a clear sense of direction. This pre-conference intensive helps choirs rapidly realign their mission, impact, and community relevance through a focused three-hour strategic planning sprint.

Working individually or with a small group from their organization, participants will analyze insights gathered from a pre-session survey completed in advance, use a community needs-mapping framework to uncover where their ensemble can have the greatest impact, and clarify areas of alignment or disconnect in their current mission and programming. They will craft compelling statements of purpose and impact, explore how programming and partnerships can evolve to meet community-identified needs, and discuss approaches for building broad stakeholder buy-in. The session concludes by identifying strategic pivots that strengthen both artistic relevance and organizational sustainability. Attendees leave with a sharper sense of purpose and an actionable strategic direction grounded in real community insight.
