Sarah Shoffner

Sarah Shoffner (she/her) is a senior performing arts executive with deep experience leading mission-driven cultural institutions through growth, financial discipline, and governance evolution. She serves as Executive Director of the Boston Gay Men’s Chorus, where she leads a 250+ member organization with a seven-figure operating budget. Under her leadership, the organization has delivered a budget surplus each fiscal year while strengthening board governance, modernizing revenue systems, and supporting ambitious artistic programming. 

Sarah is known for a leadership approach that balances artistic excellence with organizational health and long-term sustainability. Her work focuses on building institutions that are structurally sound, publicly relevant, and prepared to operate at increasing levels of scale and complexity. Trained as a performing artist, she brings a deep understanding of artistic labor to executive decision-making and is committed to aligning institutional systems with clarity, accountability, and belonging. She leads complex performing arts organizations with ambition, discipline, and a systems-driven focus on sustainable impact.
