Join ComMUSICation, a St. Paul-based choral youth development organization, to learn how adults share power with youth to create impactful youth-led and youth-centered choral programs. ComMUSICation’s Music & Program Director and 2-3 youth leaders will share their experience partnering to share power in rehearsals and performances, and while making organizational decisions. ComMUSICation leadership will share how youth involvement has impacted their ability to connect with youth to build stronger and more effective choral programs, as well as some of the challenges that have come up as they test different approaches. Session participants will assess their choral programs’ current level of youth engagement and identify opportunities to include youth voice and choice in their own regular programming and organizational decision-making.
